Axis Mundi, Cathedral Fold

From designboom.com. A contemporary place of worship designed for Strassburg France by architects Axis Mundi. Seriously though, imagine this in your city. It's a littlte bit ugly but it's also a little bit amazing. To be honest, I'm not that keen on the relief, but if it was going to have anything remotly churchy it was going to be a patterned wall. Also that bride in the rendering is a bit annoying, I mean sure it's a cool venue but still, who get's married underneath a concrete fin?
I think this building needs some moments of intimacy. Then, it'll feel more like a church built for you and less like some icon for someone elses city, if you get what I mean. Otherwise though, this stood out to me imediatly and I really like and appreciate the scale of it which makes it all the more spectacular.
