the thing i like most about fosters and rogers work is the sense of one space being defined by one shared datum or roof so that in any zone you feel part of a larger whole. not only does this open it up in terms of light but it also gives a refreshing sense of community and gives vitality to the space. I also like the interconnectedness created through a large steel structure. The shiny surfaces and the pale pallet are also refreshing and bright, making the internal space larger and less stuffy. Everything grabs your attention but at the same time muted (the noise muted by sound buffers, the light muted by the grey and the space muted by divisions and zones).
