How I like my Concrete/ Cement

i think concrete can be quite oppressive which can be good or bad depending on what you want, but maybe a as a rule of thumb I'll say show depth in walls and apertures but not in horizontal components such as floors and ceilings. Otherwise it's weighing you down, unless that's the mood. When floors are just a 2d face they appear continuous and therefore almost weightless.
