I like the idea of treating spiritual architecture like sculpture. As a first year we are warned about the decision to design a building purely as something so instinctive. Instinct is welcomed but only with justification and this can be stifling. I find it interesting how despite the similar feeling of such an instinctive form in this Temple, some kind of reasoning is still used ("it recalls the ceremonial cloth"). This gives us some romantic idea about the architect delving into the pure form of buddhism but in reality its a form drawn out from our shared reasoning of what is soft.
